YASHA GRADUAION CEROMONY BARAKA 2016
We work mostly in remote areas among extremely poor communities where education is usually a major issue. Although statistics are changing, one still finds that only a small percentage of children in some of these areas proceed to secondary level. So far we have planted a nursery schools in Teret (at the foot of the Mau Forest) as well as Baraka in Londiani. We make use of the Accelerated Christian Curriculum where we had modified the pre-school and Grade 1 programs into a nursery school program.

There are two things to note in the Kenya educational system: (1) Education is in English; (2) a child joining Primary school should already be able to read and write. After graduating from the 2-yr program, our kids can basically speak, read and write English, which is the very reason why our satellite schools are so successful! After running nursery schools now for several years, we are proud to say that a large number of our graduates go directly to Class 2, indicating the great head-start we're giving the children. The ACE system also teaches the kids valuable principles and life skills, which help them immensely in their interaction with others as well as their futures in general.
